The theory of strategic sourcing has been around for
many years and has been implemented successfully at a broad range of
organisations. Indeed, the benefits it brings are often cited in entries
to the CIPS/Supply Management Awards. However, its implementation is
far from uniform, and many organisations adapt it to fit their own
corporate priorities.
The content of this guide, which we have put together
with Red Procurement, aims to address this point: that strategic
sourcing is not a one-size-fits-all approach. Rather, as it covers a
wide range of areas key to modern procurement, it is unlikely to be
implemented identically across organisations.
Whether you are new to strategic sourcing or well-versed
in its benefits, I hope you will find this guide useful, both now and
in the future.
