Global beauty company Avon Products has appointed David Powell as senior vice president of business transformation and global supply chain.

Powell will report directly to Sheri McCoy, Avon's CEO, and will join the company's executive committee.

Powell’s responsibilities will include leading Avon's global supply chain organisation, including sourcing, manufacturing, logistics and delivery.

Avon said he will also be responsible for “the company's business transformation efforts… as well as its service model transformation project, which aims to simplify how Avon representatives do business with the company”.

McCoy added: “David has a strong track record of leading business transformation and generating growth for large global companies. He is the right fit for this critical job and a great addition to the Avon management team.”

Most recently, Powell was managing partner for Midreef Partners, LLC where he provided advisory support to medical technology, turnaround, and private/venture equity firms.

Prior to that, Powell spent more than 10 years with Johnson & Johnson, most recently as president of the company's medical devices unit in Japan.
