Retailer The Co-operative Food has shaken up its executive team to combine supply chain management with logistics operations.

Under the changes, Mark Hale, who was director of food, IS and supply chain, has been appointed supply chain director and will manage both supply chain and logistics operations at the company. Hale is the first to be appointed to the role and will report to Sean Toal, chief operating officer, who will lead the stores, service delivery and supply chain teams.

Steve Murrells, chief executive, The Co-Operative Food, said in a statement: “I am confident that each member of the enlarged and strengthened executive team has the right mix of experience, expertise and leadership capabilities to ensure we deliver our collective goals in a way that our customers, members and colleagues will value and embrace.”

The group also announced the appointment of Andrew Mann, currently director of insight and loyalty at Sainsbury’s, as customer director, Cheryl Marshall as service delivery director, and Howard Reed as food chief information officer.
