Mindy Connolly has been appointed chief acquisition officer at the General Services Administration in the US.

In this role, effective from yesterday, Connolly is the top official in charge of acquisition management as well as policy decisions at the government agency, which manages federal buildings.

She was previously a procurement policy analyst at the Office of Federal Procurement Policy (OFPP) which is part of the White House’s Office of Management and Budget (OMB). While there she led its natural resources’ contracting policy which included implementing White House requirements for sustainable procurement and green building design.

The GSA is spending £3.4 billion to convert federal offices to high-performance green buildings and to build new, energy-efficient offices, courthouses and land ports of entry.

GSA administrator Martha Johnson announced Connolly’s appointment.
