Popular impressionist Rory Bremner is hosting the CIPS SM Awards 2010 at London’s Grosvenor House Hotel on Wednesday 8 September.
The political satirist, who can impersonate more than 100 individuals from the world of politics and celebrity, will entertain procurement professionals at the awards ceremony, which celebrates excellence in purchasing and supply. On the night, Bremner will congratulate those who triumph in the 10 categories, as well as the overall winner. Whether or not he will impersonate Mohamed Al Fayed, or perhaps even Tony Blair, as he greets the winners is anyone’s guess.
Just to whet your appetite, here’s a Bremner joke: “I can’t really do a convincing Nick Clegg (though, to be fair, neither can he). What I have always said about David Cameron is that he does a better Tony Blair than I do. I just do the voice, while Cameron is doing the whole career.”
Bremner is used to launching witty attacks on the government of the day in his Channel 4 show Bremner, Bird & Fortune and other TV programmes including Have I Got News For You and Whose Line Is It Anyway?
Bremner replaces stand-up comedian John Bishop as presenter for the night.
