Building services giant NG Bailey has appointed Steve Parr as its supply chain and business transformation director.

Parr, who was formerly supply chain director at Carillion, will lead NG Bailey’s supply chain function and is responsible for a procurement budget of more than £320 million.

Parr has also held senior supply chain roles at Taylor Woodrow, Barclays Bank, and H J Heinz.

He said: “The creation of this new position within the executive leadership team highlights an increasing understanding of the strategic role that the purchasing and supply function has to play in growing effective and efficient companies, which add value to their customers’ businesses.”

Also responsible for the company’s strategy development, Parr will report directly to the company’s new chief executive, David Hurcomb.

Hurcomb said: “Steve’s experience and high-level expertise will be an asset to the company and I look forward to working with him.”

NG Bailey has a £450 million turnover company and 3,100 workers. The company provides building services planning and design through the supply chain, to off-site manufacture, installation, maintenance and refurbishment. The core offering includes mechanical and electrical contracting and ICT expertise.
