Now that all the excitement over the UK election is beginning to die down, in the procurement profession focus is turning to voting for the CIPS Council.

CIPS has two candidates for the newly created Southern Africa seat, the very first election for this seat. Nominations closed on 19 April and Electoral Reform Services in the UK will be sending out the ballot papers during this week. MCIPS and FCIPS members are eligible to vote and will be sent their voting papers via email. They should look out for the communication in their in-boxes and will be able to vote online. Those not online will be sent postal votes with reply-paid envelopes to return their ballot papers.

The closing date for voting is 2 July and the results will be announced at the institute’s AGM in Birmingham on 10 July. This year there are four CIPS seats up for grabs. The two international seats are Southern Africa and the Rest of World, while the two UK sectoral seats are Central Government and Retail.
