Four people have been charged with corruption in connection with UK Ministry of Defence (MoD) contracts worth around £25 million.
These individuals, including two MoD staff, were indicted on Friday by the Serious Fraud Office (SFO) and will go on trial at Belfast Crown Court at a date yet to be fixed.
The charges follow an investigation, launched by the Ministry of Defence Police in 2003, into the conduct of MoD employees and suppliers involved in the provision and maintenance of MoD buildings and equipment in Northern Ireland.
The probe was prompted by concerns that certain electrical and security systems suppliers were favoured and consistently awarded “lucrative” provision and maintenance deals.
The charges relate to the supply and installation of CCTV systems, the SFO said in a statement.
