Barclays Bank’s strategic sourcing manager Jaime
Hamilton will become head of procurement at Channel 4
from 6 December.
In the newly created role, she
will set up an in-house procurement team at the television broadcasting group.
Hamilton has worked for Barclays
for the past three years and was responsible for £500 million spend. Among
her achievements was the restructuring of the company’s commercial model with a
marketing print provider to achieve savings of £2.2 million without going to
market.
She was senior procurement consultant at IBM Business Consultancy Services between 2005 and 2007 and BAA’s supply chain manager for
marketing from 2004 to 2005.
She has won a top performance award on more than one occasion at both
Barclays and IBM.
Between 2002 and 2004
Hamilton was the BBC’s marketing procurement specialist, creating the
first marketing procurement presence across the corporation.
At the BBC she made
initial savings of 20 per cent on advertising spend of £4.5 million and went on
to redefine procurement strategies to achieve more value. Working with senior
marketing management, Hamilton redefined contractual terms with market research
agencies to include key procurement issues and brought a cost reduction of 15
per cent on £5 million.
She began her career as a graduate trainee at the procurement
recruitment consultancy Value Connect in
2000.
