Andrew Hill, BAA Gatwick’s former supply chain director, has joined utility firm Severn Trent Water as its new supply chain and procurement director.

The Midlands-based utility firm serves more than 3.7 million homes and businesses in England and Wales delivering almost two billion litres of water daily.

Hill said in a statement: “My immediate focus is develop and then implement Severn Trent’s supply chain and procurement strategy in order to help the company achieve its goal of attaining the highest standards, with the lowest prices, all delivered by great people.”

“We have already introduced new ways of working with our supply chain partners as part of our approach to the next five-year asset management period and I will be continuing to lead and manage this change across our whole supply chain.”

He added: “Over the next five years, we need to deliver continuing commercial and performance improvements throughout our supply chain, and deliver a huge capital investment programme. To be successful, both Severn Trent and our entire supply chain will need to think and act differently both now and in the longer term.”
