Comedian Dara O Briain is set to host the CIPS Supply Management Awards 2006 in London in October.

Stand-up and television star O Briain will entertain the audience before announcing the awards in the 10 team and two individual categories, and for the overall winner.

O Briain was chosen by the BBC to front Saturday night comedy showcase The Live Floor Show on BBC Scotland. He has also guest-hosted Have I Got News for You. He has since presented Mock the Week, an off-the-cuff, topical comedy show on BBC2.

More recently, he joined Griff Rhys Jones and Rory McGrath to row from London to Oxford to relive Jerome K Jerome's story Three Men in a Boat, an adventure that was filmed for BBC2.

Ariba is the event's headline sponsor for the third year. Hays Purchasing & Supply and Atos Consulting also return as sponsors. The Office of Government Commerce and RS are supporting the awards programme for the first time.

Award winners will be announced at a black-tie dinner on 26 October at the London Hilton on Park Lane. Book early to avoid disappointment by calling the awards team on 020 7880 6249 or visit www.cipssmawards.com for more information.
