Supply chain relationships will get a boost and UK companies become more competitive if they improve partnerships, according to a business specification published last week.
The specification,
PAS 11000 Collaborative Business Relationships, provides an eight-step strategy for improving partnerships in organisations and between supply chain members.
The British Standards Institution (BSI) collaborated with Partnership Sourcing Limited (PSL) and CIPS to develop the framework specification. BSI has promoted it as the world's first formal standard for collaborative business management.
Les Pyle, the chief executive of PSL, told
SM his company was working with BSI on a formal accreditation programme for individuals and companies. He added: "Now it is in the marketplace, I trust it will evolve and develop into a BSI standard and eventually an ISO standard."
