Specialists in supply, logistics and contracts are among those recognised in the New Year Honours List.

Professor Alan Waller, president of the Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport and visiting professor for international supply chain management at Cranfield University, was appointed OBE for services to logistics.

Roy Webb, contract operations manager for the London Ambulance Service, was appointed MBE for services to healthcare.

He was among a number of people to be named for their efforts following the 7 July terrorist attacks in London.

Webb coordinated the support given by the patient transport service to frontline staff responding to the blasts.

David Woodward, president of BP Azerbaijan, was appointed CMG - Companion of the Order of Saint Michael and Saint George - for services to British business interests and security of energy supplies.

They were among more than 1,000 people to have honours conferred upon them by the Queen.
