OGCbuying.solutions, the trading arm of the Office of Government Commerce, has launched an interim managers recruitment service for public-sector organisations.

The framework can provide staff to work in health, education or defence. It also has interim managers who can fill board or executive committee appointments, those who can work at local authorities, central civil government or other public-sector bodies.

OGCbuying.solutions expects the framework to deliver average savings of 7 per cent compared with current deals.

Hugh Barrett, chief executive, said in a statement: "Demand for interim mangers has increased significantly over the past few years. We are pleased to offer public-sector customers a framework agreement which continues the supply of this category of temporary staff."

In June, OGCbuying.solutions launched a framework of suppliers able to provide temporary specialists in IT, HR, finance and audit, and project and programme management expertise. It expects the deal to reduce the cost of contractors by an average of 24 per cent.
