The Olympic Delivery Authority (ODA) today announced the CLM consortium as its preferred delivery partner for the London 2012 Olympics.

The consortium, which is made up of engineering firm CH2M HILL, construction firm Laing O'Rourke and project managers Mace, was praised by the ODA for the quality of its bid.

ODA chief executive David Higgins said in a statement: "We undertook a rigorous evaluation process of all four of the high-quality shortlisted bids across a range of technical and commercial criteria. CLM came out best."

ODA said all three companies in the consortium have significant experience on this type of project. Between them they have worked on five previous Olympic summer and winter games, two forthcoming games and UK projects including the construction of Terminal 5 at Heathrow airport.

Ron Brooks, CLM chief executive, said: "CLM's single focus is to help the ODA deliver world-class facilities with a legacy to match."

The ODA and CLM will sign the contract in September, following the 10-day "standstill" period required by EU procurement regulations.
