Dirk Van den Berghe, senior vice president of logistics, procurement and quality at food retailer Delhaize Group, will become its CEO from 1 January. He will continue to have responsibility for procurement, as well as strategy and corporate development.

The Cabinet Office executive director Adrian Kamellard, who was responsible for renegotiating the contracts of the government’s major suppliers, is to become the chief executive of the Payments Council, which sets the strategy for UK payments, on 1 November.  

Berlin Packaging has hired Richard Chapman as vice president of supply chain to develop more innovative suppliers. Chapman was previously senior director of strategic sourcing at packaging supplier HAVI Global Solutions.
