Having graduated with a master’s degree in strategic sourcing from Bordeaux Management School, Samir Boutamdja joined perfumery and flavour manufacturer Firmenich in Switzerland five years ago.
He spent two years in this global indirect procurement organisation where he impressed his bosses with his ability, ambition and results.
He then moved to Firmenich’s affiliate in the US, where he was involved in outsourcing facilities management and logistics in North America. When the two companies decided to implement a global logistics network, Boutamdja was selected to lead the project and negotiate a complex agreement that would share both risks and benefits.
He now leads the firm’s European outsourced logistics project and is integrating the logistics structure of a recently acquired company. “Considering his competencies and personality, I am confident he will have a bright future in purchasing,” says Giuseppe Conti, global director, outsourcing and services purchasing, at Firmenich.
