CATEGORY MANAGER, SHELL, 31
After working for Shell Trading in 1999 on a university placement, Adil Mohammad was later appointed a trading knowledge advisor at the company. He then became a procurement strategist there, managing the IT procurement function of $60 million (£36.1 million) annual third-party spend and supporting a $52.5 million (£31.6 million) cargo inspection services tender. He was a member of Shell’s global IT contracts board and achieved savings of $9.9 million (£5.6 million). He also completed his MCIPS.
Mohammad then became European procurement lead for Shell IT, and since 2007 has been a category manager with Shell International. This involves formulating and executing a global, pan-Shell strategy for the finance, insurance, legal and tax category ($300-$400 million annual spend).
He has been a committee member of the central London branch of CIPS since 2007.
